The Origin of J01: Where It All Began

Ever wondered about the story behind J01? It’s more than just a name - it’s a nod to our humble beginnings. J01 was the room we shared at the prestigious Institut des Systèmes Intelligents et de Robotique (ISIR) lab, where we all pursued our PhDs together. This was more than 10 years ago, and it’s where our journey as friends and collaborators first took off.

As we worked side by side in J01, we forged a strong bond, spending countless hours discussing AI, neuroscience, and intelligence. Those conversations not only shaped our research but also laid the foundation for a lifelong friendship. We wanted to recapture that same spirit of camaraderie and innovation with our new company, J01.ai.

After completing our PhDs, four of us went on to co-found Heuritech, and many of our former J01 colleagues eventually joined us along the way. Now, with J01.ai, we’re embarking on a new adventure, driven by the same passion for AI and the same commitment to growth and collaboration with people we respect and admire.
